Bio of Kate Mills

Kate Mills is a native Oregonian who moved to Mt. Hood with her husband, Jack, in 1975 to a ranch they had purchased in 1963. Kate and Jack (retired from U.S. Bank) have been married for 56 years.

Kate’s entire life has been spent in volunteering for community non-profits. Most recently she has spent twelve years on the High Desert Museum Board in Bend and twenty years as treasurer of the Hood River Valley Resident’s Committee. She was also a charter member of the Hood River Classic horse show board.

Kate has four sons, six grandchildren, eight horses, fourteen chickens and two unfriendly cats. In addition to family activities and community volunteer work, she currently manages ten rental houses and is a majority owner of the Mt. Hood Railroad.

Kate is a charter board member of the Gorge Community Foundation.
